mentoringThe Friends Make a Difference mentoring program is a partnership between Fairview Medical Center, YMCA Forest Lake, and Lakes Center for Youth & Families. The program is offered to schools in the Forest Lake, North Branch and Chisago Lakes School Districts. The mission of Friends Make a Difference is to encourage children and youth to recognize and develop their full potential through trusting and supportive relationships with caring adults from the community.

Friends Make a Difference is a mentoring relationship that takes place during school lunches. Schools that participate in the program provide a quiet space for mentor matches to meet, eat their lunch and play games. Previously, the program ended once school let out. Now, the mentor matches have the opportunity to continue their relationship year round with LC4YF’s Making Connection Mentoring Program.
